Mark your calendars for the primary debates for governor of Missouri. The primary election is August 6.
The 2024 GOP Governor’s Race Debate that will take place at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 24, and be broadcast live throughout Missouri from 5 On Your Side’s downtown St. Louis studio. The debate panel will include Nine PBS Producer and Host Carol Daniel, 5 On Your Side Political Editor Mark Maxwell, and KSHB 41’s News Anchor Caitlin Knute.
Candidates John “Jay” Ashcroft and Bill Eigel have confirmed their attendance. Mike Kehoe has declined, citing a conflict. Candidates were invited based on polling, dollars raised, and if they have a committee or headquarters established.
The debate will be broadcast on Nine PBS, 5 On Your Side, KSHB 41, KOMU, and PBS stations throughout the state. It will also stream live on ninepbs.org/live, 5+, kshb.com, and it will later be available for replay on the PBS App.
Democratic Primary Debate
Nine PBS and 5 On Your Side will also produce a Democratic primary debate with candidates Mike Hamra and Crystal Quade, moderated by Maxwell and Nine PBS Senior Producer Ruth Ezell. This pre-taped debate will air on 5 On Your Side Sunday, July 14 at 11 pm. It will air on July 25 at 7:30 pm on Nine PBS. It will also stream live on ninepbs.org/live and be available for replay on the PBS App and on 5+.
