ST. LOUIS, MO (March 6, 2024)—In celebration of 314 Day, Nine PBS will air a special themed episode of flagship program Living St. Louis on Thursday, March 14.
Living St. Louis regularly highlights the people, places, and things that make St. Louis unique. This special episode will feature the origins and organizers of 314 Day, a visit to Skate King, the roller-skating rink that has become an iconic Black institution, an interview with a St. Louis realtor using his large social following and podcast to showcase everything great about living in the city, an insider’s look at the “Original Mexican Fish Fry” at St. Cecilia’s, and much more.
“St. Louis has incredible stories to tell—stories of positivity, growth, joy, and community. At Nine PBS we are committed to telling these stories, lifting St. Louis up, and changing the narrative of our region. St. Louis is building momentum and evolving, and 314 Day is the perfect opportunity to affirm why we’re proud to live here,” said Amy Shaw, President and CEO at Nine PBS.
Also on March 14, Nine PBS will host a second annual 314 Day Celebration in partnership with Greater St. Louis, Inc., STLMade, and the 314 Day Foundation. Held at Nine PBS studios, the event will feature a live viewing of the Living St. Louis episode, music from DJ Darian Wigfall, and discussions with local leaders including Vanessa Cooksey, President and CEO, Regional Arts Commission; Arrey Obenson, President and CEO, International Institute of St. Louis; Jody Sowell, President and CEO of Missouri History Museum; and 314 Day Founders, Tatum Polk and Terrell “Young Dip” Evans, among others.
